If you have had the opportunity to see the Oklahoma Thunder play you have probably noticed the # 2 jersey blurrrrrring down the field on several occasions. If you don't know who I'm referring to let me introduce you to Micheal Swalley. To first meet him you might think roofer, carpenter, or maybe mechanic and you would be right. What you would never guess is professional football player at 5' 9" 175lbs he sure does not look much like a football player. Don't be fooled by the look, this guy can play football and he is very good at it just ask anyone who has had the misfortune of playing against him. His success began at Nowata High school where he carried them to the state finals his senior season as their quarterback only to lose. As an undersized and over achiever Swalley received one offer to play college football and start the Bacone football team which had not been playing for more than twenty years. As with most coaches who are lucky enough to coach him it did not take the Bacone staff long to realize what they had. While at Bacone swalley was named to the All-American team twice and still holds the record for total yards from scrimmage in a career. Several years after he left Bacone he responded to an offer to tryout for a local semi-pro football team the Oklahoma Rhinos, where he shined helping that team reach the semi-finals of their league championship, only to fall short of the championship all athletes strive for. Which brings us to the Thunder, coach Madden and coach Cornelison said when They began the Thunder they had a short list of players they wanted and he was right on top. Their scouting has been well founded, in his first year in the World Football League he is leading all receiver with 18 touchdowns Thur 7 games. So, you might be wondering after all the years why does he continue to play, like most, his answer is as simple and to the point as he is "A RING". If things continue as they have been Swalley may just get the one thing that has eluded him. Also, I have learned this week that this may not be his last season of football, after years of going unnoticed Micheal Swalley and several others on the Oklahoma Thunder roster have been contacted by an arena one team the New Orleans Voodoo. No matter where he goes or what he chooses to do in life I am sure Micheal Swalley will take the recipe for success with him.

Oklahoma Thunder get bigger!!!! The Thunder landed big Onel Locident. Onel, a native of Miaimi FL, played for Northestern Oklahoma State University. "The big "O" is a very talented football player. Heck, he is 6'5", 310lbs and moves as well, if not better, than some of our skill guys. Not to mention, he has great strength" said General Manager Brandon Lederman.
Thunder added some lightning on Defense. The Thunder Defense got just that much better when they signed former Muskogee High School stand out, and 1st team all Lone Star Conference, DB Kevin Reed. Reed started his college football career at East Central University in Ada, Ok before transferring to Northeastern Oklahoma State University where he became a great defensive force in the River Hawk secondary. Due to some injury, and Mr. Reed’s great athletic ability, Kevin even spent some time as an LB at NSU. Head Coach Bruce Madden said of Reed, “We are real lucky to get this guy. I am just glad he is on our team. The WFL will soon know what I am talking about."
COMMUNITY: Oklahoma Thunder is a proud supporter of INFC Youth Football.
