We heard the bad news on channel 6 news this evening.
What hospital is he in and can he have visitors?
Is there any word on his prognosis after the surgery?
This is a good man. My grandson attended first grade at Marrs Elementary in Skiatook this year and at their "little olympics" Emeka was one of the Thunder players that gave of their time to assist in the games. The kids all loved his infectious enthusiasm.
My grandson had tried to say hello to him at the last home game but we could not catch up with him.
Our family will be praying for his recovery.
God bless Emeka!

Emeka went in for surgery at 730 am. It's a an eight hour procedure, so we will wait here until he is done. I will update again when he comes out of surgery. Thanks to everyone for their support.

We just got word from Coach Madden, surgery went really good. Meka's already got better mobility in his upper extremities. He's starting therapy tomorrow and the doctor's are hopeful that he will get movement back in his lower extremities. He's at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark. and his mother is with him at this time. We'll try to keep everyone posted as new info is available. Oh, and he is still in very good spirits! Wouldn't expect it to be any other way!
