Shreveport, La October 18 ,2008 - The Oklahoma Thunder capped off a perfect season by defeating the Austin Gamebreakers 29 to 6 in the WFL World Bowl II hosted by Eldorado Casino and Yellowassistance.com at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, LA.
The Thunder finished the season ranked #1 by minorleaguefootballnews.com an independent website that ranks over 200 minor league and semi-pro teams across the nation. The website has put together a national tournament, and the Thunder are the number one seed and could play as many as 3 more games in Tulsa. This tournament will prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the WFL is the premiere minor league football conference. The Thunder play October 25 at Memorial Stadium. Kickoff will be at 7pm. Tickets are available at the gate.

Thunder head coach Bruce Madden was presented the WFL Coach of the Year Award.
The Thunder’s Joey Crawford, who intercepted a pass and ran it back 70 yards for a touchdown during the Championship Game, was presented the WFL Player of the Year Award.
